2017 Peach Pie Contest July News!

Glassboro, NJ (July 31, 2017) - New Jersey amateur peach pie baking contests are in their fifth season, and competitions are getting fierce! Winners of local competitions go on to compete for two grand prizes of $300 each – one in south Jersey, one in North Jersey. Contests and peach events are sponsored by the New Jersey Peach Promotion Council.
To date, Wildwood, Margate and Edison farmers markets have winners in their pie contests, and, their pies are irresistible!
“Our Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market Peach Party was a great success for all our vendors who participated with "peachy" offerings!” said Joanne Messer, market manager.
The Wildwood Perfect Peach Pie winner was Cathianne Metzgier.
Margate attracted 16 entries to its peach pie contest. “Our Peach Party and pie contest were very successful,” said Jane Martin, market manager. The winner was Mark Swartz.
“Our peach day was one of our busiest days for customers coming into the market, says Jay Elliot, Edison Farmers Market manager. For the second year in a row, Sarah Deller won their peach pie contest.
